Tributes Paid to Kirti Chakra Awardee Martyr DSP Humayun Muzamil Bhat by J&K DGP and PWWA Chairperson

Srinagar 1 sep 2024 – The Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Shri R.R. Swain, along with the Chairperson of the J&K Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA), Professor Rasmita Das Swain, and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Shri V.K. Birdhi, visited Ms. Fatima Humayun, the wife of Kirti Chakra awardee martyr DSP Humayun Muzamil Bhat, and their young son.

 

During the visit, the DGP and his colleagues paid glowing tributes to the martyr, remembering DSP Humayun as an exemplary officer who embodied a rare combination of fortitude and kindness. They emphasized his unwavering commitment not only to his family but also to the people of Kashmir through his dedicated service.

 

In his poignant remarks, the DGP reflected on the enduring legacy of Humayun, stating, “Humayun, the mortal, is no more; long live Humayun, the martyr, and the martyrdom of all policemen he represents.” He underscored that while time may erode many things, the affection and respect that bind the living with the fallen in the J&K Police will forever endure.

 

The visit highlighted the deep bond within the police fraternity, with the DGP expressing that the respect and love for the martyr’s family are unwavering. “Long live ‘The family’,” he concluded, reiterating the enduring solidarity of the J&K Police with the families of their brave fallen officers.
