Gulmarg Welcomes New Army Museum Showcasing Kashmir’s Heritage and Military History

Srinagar, Aug 31: The renowned ski resort of Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir has unveiled an exciting new attraction with the inauguration of a one-of-a-kind museum that celebrates the union territory’s rich history and heritage, along with highlighting the pivotal role of the Indian Army in the valley’s security and development.

 

 

The “Gul-A-Seum” museum was officially inaugurated on Saturday by Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar, the Army Commander of Northern Command. This unique museum, an initiative by the Army’s Dagger Division and its Himalayan Brigade, stands as a testament to the Indian Army’s valor, sacrifice, and enduring commitment to nation-building.

 

A Srinagar-based defence spokesperson described the museum as a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide visitors with an immersive experience. The museum showcases the Army’s significant contributions during various wartime efforts and its role in national development, alongside the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.

Visitors to the museum will have the opportunity to explore an extensive collection of artifacts, documents, and interactive displays that delve into the region’s unique traditions, art, and historical milestones. The museum is expected to enhance the already vibrant tourism scene in Gulmarg by offering tourists a chance to learn about the region’s history and the Army’s engagement in securing and developing Kashmir.

 

The spokesperson emphasized that the museum will not only add to the charm of Gulmarg but also serve as an educational resource, helping visitors gain a deeper understanding of Kashmir’s cultural heritage and the Indian Army’s role in the region.
