A total of Seventy Two (72) Candidates file nominations in 07 Assembly Constituencies of Anantnag District
Anantnag, August 27: As the nomination process comes to a close in District Anantnag, a total of seventy two (72) candidates have filed their nominations in the seven (07) Assembly constituencies of the District. Out of these total Seventy two nominations, Seventy One (71) were filed on the last day of nominations which was 27th August.
These candidates comprise both independent candidates as well as those belonging to various political parties including National and State level parties.
From the start of the nomination process, the total nominations received Assembly Constituency wise are as under:
41-Dooru Assembly Constituency: Twelve(12) candidates filed their nominations papers officially in the office of Returning Officer.
42-Kokernag ST Assembly Constituency: Eleven(11) candidates filed their nominations papers officially in the office of Returning Officer.
43-Anantnag West Assembly Constituency: Fourteen (14) candidates filed their nominations papers officially in the office of Returning Officer.
44-Anantnag Assembly Constituency: Twelve (12) candidates filed their nominations papers today and One (01) candidate has filed his nomination earlier officially in the office of Returning Officer.
45-Srigufwara Bijbehara Assembly Constituency: Three(03) candidates filed their nominations papers officially in the office of Returning Officer.
46- Shangus Anantnag East Assembly Constituency: Thirteen(13)candidates filed their nominations papers officially in the office of Returning Officer.
47-Pahalgam Assembly Constituency: Six (06) candidates filed their nominations papers officially in the office of Returning Officer.
The total number of candidates in the fray accordingly is Seventy two (72) so far.
Scrutiny for nomination papers shall take place in respective offices of the Returning Officers on 28th of August 2024 and the last date of withdrawal is August 30th 2024.
Notably, the poll date for all seven Assembly segments of Anantnag is 18th September 2024.
