SRINAGAR: Shock and dismay gripped Cheki Audoora village in the Mawer area of Handwara as reports emerged of a horrific incident where a man allegedly murdered his wife on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.
According to sources speaking to the News Agency Press Trust of Kashmir, Mohammad Maqbool Mir, son of Ali Mohammad Mir, reportedly used a sharp object to fatally attack his wife. The victim, whose identity has been withheld, was the daughter of Mohammad Mukhtar Sheikh of Lawoosa
Meanwhile, Police team swiftly arrived at the scene to gather essential details. Confirming the incident, a police official stated that a case has been registered, and investigations are underway.
“We are conducting a thorough assessment of the situation. While it may take time to gather all the pertinent details, we have determined the culpability of the husband in the brutal murder of the woman,” the official remarked.
