Man Arrested on Charges of Sexual Assault Against Minor in Srinagar

In a disturbing incident, the Srinagar police arrested a 32-year-old man, identified as Umais Khan, on Thursday evening on charges of sexual assault against a minor child. The accused, son of Mushtaq Khan and resident of Zaldagar, Srinagar, has been taken into custody.
The case has been registered under FIR no 140/2023, citing sections 7 and 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, at the Parimpora police station.
The arrest was made following an alleged sexual assault on a 13-year-old child, which prompted swift action from the authorities. The Srinagar police are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of minors and have taken this incident seriously.
