DM Kupwara interacts with PM CARES children

Shares delight moments, assures every possible support

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 23: PM CARES children along with their guardians today called on the District Magistrate (DM) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray, here in his office chamber at D.C Office Kupwara.

ACD/ACP Kupwara, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Kupwara, Hidaitullah Mir and other officers from Mission VATSALYA (ICPS) were present on the occasion.

On the occasion, the District Magistrate interacted with the children, enquired about their upkeep, education and health. He also shared delightful moments with the children and asked them about their aim in life, favourite books and dishes, besides, offered them chocolates and lunch.

Meanwhile, the DCPO Kupwara informed the District Magistrate that 6 double orphan children who have lost their parents due to COVID-19 from 2 families belonging to Karnah and Panzgam have been covered under PM CARES, offering comprehensive care including free education and health services.

He was also informed that ex-gratia relief of Rs.50000 has already been provided to each child by District Disaster Management Authority Kupwara. He was further informed that the children are being provided free education and health insurance under PMJAY SEHAT. Besides, scholarships are also being provided to them under the SAKSHAM scheme and other minority scholarships.

On the occasion, the District Magistrate assured every possible support to the children and directed the DCPO to ensure proper upkeep and care of the children.

The DM appointed ADDC Kupwara as Nodal Officer to look into the grievances of these children and ensure immediate redressal.
