Some private schools harassing students for non payment of fee:- Parents

Take up issue directly with parents, not students:- Govt.

Press Trust Of Kashmir Srinagar Sep 14:- Jammu and Kashmir government said that some private schools in Jammu and Kashmir were harassing the students during the morning assembly over non-payment of the tuition and other fees.

Government has directed schools to take up such issues with directly with parents not with students.

“A delegation of parents visited the administrative department of School Education complaining that some Private Schools within the Union Territory of JK are harassing the students for non-payment of School Fees, some resort to disgracing the students during assemblies and classes and even some schools resort to corporal punishments, which is highly objectionable,” reads a circular issued in this regard.

“Accordingly it is impressed upon all the Private Schools within the Union Territory of JK to resist such practices.” it adds.

The department said that any issue regarding fees may directly be taken up with the parents or the guardians and no student should be asked for payment of balance fees.

“Any violation in this regard, shall be viewed seriously and necessary action may be taken against the schools, which can include de-recognition of the Schools, as well,” it reads further.
