Police recovers huge quantity of contraband substances in Pulwama
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR SEP 04: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Pulwama have recovered huge quantity of contraband substances in village Chewakalan.
Police Station Litter received a specific information through reliable sources that one person namely Ghulam Hassan Wani son of Abdul Razak Wani resident of Chewakalan has indulged in drug peddling and hoarded a huge quantity of narcotic substance in his residential house.
On receipt of this information, a Police party of PS Pulwama alongwith Executive Magistrate raided the specific location. During search, 56kgs of poppy straw along with digital weighing machine were recovered from the said residential house. However the accused person fled from the spot after noticing the presence of Police. Efforts are on to nab him.

Accordingly, case vide FIR No. 266/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Pulwama and further investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
