Police organises awareness programme cum rally against drug abuse in Awantipora
Wild bung destroyed in Budgam, Sopore and Tral
Press Trust Of Kashmir Srinagar September 03: In view of growing menace of drugs and to spread awareness among the general public about ill effects of drug menace, Police in Awantipora have organized drug awareness programme cum rally in the area. Besides, wild bung was also destroyed in Budgam, Sopore and Tral.
The awareness programmes were organized at Boys Higher Secondary School Pampore and Higher Secondary school Dogripora and attended by the respectables, students from the Pampore and Awantipora areas. Besides, Tehsildar Pampore had a detailed interaction with the students/public during the said awareness programmes, while as SDPO Pampore and SDPO Awantipora were also present on these occasions.
After the interaction programmes, rallies were organized in Pampore, Khrew and Awantipora to generate awareness against drug abuse and its ill effects on the society. Along with Police, officers from civil administration also took part in these rallies.

Moreover in Budgam, a joint team comprising of Police Station Magam alongwith officials of Excise Department led by SHO PS Magam launched a special drive against wild weed bung in Main Towm Magama and its adjacent areas and destroyed huge quantity of bung.
In Sopore, a police team from PS Sopore along with Tehsildar Dangerpora and students of Government Higher Secondary School Dangerpora under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri Furqan Qadir-JKPS launched a special drive against wild bung in village Dangerpora and destroyed huge quantity of wild bung.
Similarly in Tral, a police party of Police Station Tral destroyed huge quantity of wild bung in village Pinglish Tral and its adjacent areas.
General public of these areas applauded the act of Police and assured their cooperation in sharing all information related to illegal use of drugs in order to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society.
