National Lok Adalat held across Doda; 6 benches settle 450 cases
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR DODA, AUGUST 13; In pursuance to the national calendar and under directions of J and K Legal Services Authority, a National Lok Adalat was organized in district Doda by the District Legal Services Authority Bhaderwah under the supervision and guidance of Chairman DLSA, Bhaderwah, Virinder Singh Bhau and Secretary DLSA, Bhaderwah, Mudasar Farooq.
The National Lok Adalat was inaugurated by the Chairman DLSA, Bhaderwah and Secretary DLSA, Bhaderwah.
In his inaugural speech, the Chairman informed the litigants about the benefits of National Lok Adalat and settling of disputes through conciliation. The gathering was also addressed by the Secretary DLSA Bhaderwah and emphasized the need and importance of National Lok Adalats for amicable settlement of disputes between the parties.
Six Benches constituted by Virinder Singh Bhau, Pr. District and Sessions Judge/Chairman District Legal Services Authority, across the district took up Criminal Compoundable cases, Matrimonial and cases, Maintenance, Cheque Bounce, Civil, Recovery, labour, PUS Matters, MACT- Litigation and Pre-Litigation cases and other cases.

The benches were constituted in the court complexes of Bhaderwah, Doda, Munsiff court Thathri and Munsiff court Gandoh.
A total of 1047 cases were taken up out of which 450 cases of different nature mentioned supra were settled by amicably in presence of parties. The total amount of Rs. 17464274 has been settled in bank recovery, money recovery & MACT Cases with the efforts of the presiding officers of courts, Bar members of the respective courts and representatives of banks and insurance companies.
A fine of Rs. 217350 was also recovered. Judicial officers, members of Bar, revenue officers, bank managers of various banks, representatives of various insurance companies, officers of PHE, PDD, Municipality, Fisheries, parties of the cases and people at large participated in the said national Lok Adalat through Virtual means as well as physically on need basis after observing all Covid SOPs and following the guidelines of High Court of J and K.
