Six police men injured tin shed set ablaze in Budgam
Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar : At least six police personals were injured besides that a tin shed was set ablaze by locals in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An official said that tday morning villagers of village Arwah Beerwah Budgam attacked house of one Mohammad Maqbool Dar s/o Ghulam Mohammad Dar r/o Arwah ( same village) and set ablaze his Cow Shed which the villagers claim has been built on graveyard land of the said village.
Police party from police station Beerwah upon receiving the information rushed to the spot and tried to disperse the mob however the mob resorted to stone pelting upon police party as well as the house of the Mohammad Maqbool Dar, he said.
While controlling the situation 06 police personals got injured by stones pelted upon them. The situation was brought under control and fire service was called to douse the fire he added further.
Case FIR No 40/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Beerwah and investigation taken up, he said.
It is pertinent to mention here that there is long-standing dispute between the said Mohammad Maqbool Dar and the villagers over that piece of land and the issue is currently Subjudice, he added further.
Situation is under control, police is deployed in the said village to prevent any further clashes . Some of the persons who had resorted to clashes have been identified on video analysis and strict action under law shall be taken against them, he said.:-PTK.
