Earthquake of magnitude 4.0 Jolts J&K
Srinagar, 22 Jan (PTK) :An earthquake of magnitude 4.0 on the Richter scale occurred during the intervening night of Friday-Saturday in Jammu and Kashmir,The tremors took place at 2.53 A. M, and lasted for a few seconds, an official said.

A disaster management official said that The earthquake shook the Chenab Valley districts including Doda, Kishtwar while tremors were felt across Jammu and Kashmir.
He adds the epicentre was located in Doda region 10 km inside the earth’s crust and the coordinates were latitude 36.06 degrees north and longitude 75.82 degrees east.(PTK)
