Mehbooba Mufti offer prayers at father’s graveyard
Says police barred PDP supporters to offer prayers near the grave for mufti syed
Srinagar, 07 Jan (PTK) : Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and People’s Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti visited her father’s grave in the Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district to offer prayers on his sixth death anniversary.
As per the News-agency Press Trust of Kashmir (PTK) Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and People’s Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti accompanied by scores of PDP supporters visited her father’s grave in the Bijbehara to offer prayers on his sixth death anniversary.
Reports reaching Press trust of Kashmir that Mehbooba Mufti held a strong protest against the administration for not allowing PDP supporters inside the graveyard to offer prayers near the grave for mufti syed.
Mehbooba Mufti alleged that PDP supporters are being hounded by the police outside the graveyard.
“Meanwhile J&K police is hounding my party workers who dared to offer fatiha at his grave today. Outlawing & criminalising even a simple act of paying respect & tribute to one’s leader shows state administration’s deep paranoia & intolerance. @JmuKmrPolice @manojsinha_ @HMOIndia,” mehbooba Mufti tweeted on her official twitter handle.
