Army organised Medical Camp at Dardpura Kupwara
Kupwara, 03 Jan (PTK) : Indian Army Organised a day-long medical camp at Dardpura Kupwara to treat the sick and needy from the remote areas in the vicinity.
The area of Dardpura (Village of Widows), Satbain and its surrounding villages are located at the foothills of Shamshabari mountain ranges. These villages in higher reaches lack basic amenities and medical infrastructure such as Govt Hospitals and Primary Health Centres. During recent interactions in Khairiyat Patrols, villagers have conveyed the requirement of medical assistance by medical specialists.
Based on the felt need, a Medical Camp was organised by Indian Army at Dardpura B village, during which the specialists from Govt Hospital Kralpora including Gynaecologist, Ophthalmologist, Medical Specialist and Dentist have ensured medical assistance to the people in this remote region at their door step.
Two medical officers from Indian Army have also provided the much needed medical assistance during the medical camp.
All patients were received at the reception centre where they were given entry slips for specific OPD and face masks to ensure adherence to COVID protocols. From reception, the patients were directed to waiting area for respective OPD.
During the camp a total of 313 patients were treated at respective OPDs including Med OPD -274, Eye OPD -16, Gynae OPD -16, Dental OPD -07, Total -313
The camp was attended by a total of 175 men and 138 women incl children. Every individual was given a medical check up along with specific medical advice in the various OPDs set up. Post completion of the check up, medicines were distributed as endorsed on the medical slips.
The medical camp was organised in a way to function smoothly as well as to give adequate privacy to the female patients with separate Gynaecologist OPD and medicine counter for their comfort.
The doctors and staff from Kralpora Hospital were felicitated post completion of the camp as token of appreciation from the men in uniform.(PTK).
