JSS Kupwara in collaboration with Army launches MSDE’s Skill Hub Initiative at Galizoo, Kupwara

 

Kupwara, 01 Jan (PTK) : Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) Kupwara in collaboration with District Administration & Indian Army, launched a Skill Hub Initiative (SHI), a new integrated platform of education and skill development designed in the backdrop of New Education Policy 2020 by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) at Galizoo, Kupwara on Saturday.

As per the statement issued to Press trust of Kashmir, the initiative was inaugurated in the presence of chief guest Colonel MS Navalgatti, CO 41 RR, guest of honour, Principal Government Degree College (women) Kupwara, Mrs Ashwini Navalgatti and Director Jan Shikshan Sansthan Kupwara.

The Skill Hub Initiative seeks to fill this frontier district’s long-standing digital skills gap, which has existed in relevant training courses and education.

 

Initially, the inauguration of courses like Domestic Data Entry Operator has been done and nursing course is expected to be launched within couple of days.

 

These trades have been developed based on the National Skills Qualifications Frameworks compliant courses.

“We are proud to provide further opportunities for the youth of Kupwara to develop their skills and be highly valued employees across industries in future” Director JSS said during the inaugural session.

 

The objective of these hubs is to train skill development, apprenticeship and entrepreneurship using the technology blended with NEP 2020.

 

Commanding Officer 41 RR encouraged the present aspirants of these courses to hone up skills and techniques inorder to get ready to step-out for job market.

“Army is ready for hand-holding support for such kind of initiatives and such developments in the areas like Kupwara is a good indication” CO 41 RR said during his address on the occassion.

 

Principal Degree College Kupwara showed his satisfaction for the newly launched Skill Hub Initiative and spoke over the need of integration of skills and education.

 

Director JSS Kupwara thanked principal Govt Degree College Women’s Kupwara for the MoU between the two institutions regarding opening of one such hub in the Degree College premises in future.

 

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and Ministry of Education are set to open as many as 5,000 Skill Hub Initiatives by repurposing existing government infrastructure to strengthen its ongoing skill development initiatives and education across the country.

 

The priorities of the ministry include doubling the number of apprenticeships year-on-year, simplifying the processes and rules to increase the industry collaborations, mixing vocational and academics as suggested in the National Education Policy 2020 and undertaking pilots on emerging technologies, especially AR/VR, the statement reads .(PTK).
