Kulgam Gunfight : Two more militant Killed, toll mounts to 03, operation underway

Srinagar, 29 Dec (PTK) : Two more militants has been killed in an ongoing operation between government forces and militants in mirhama area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam District, officials said on Wednesday evening.

An official told Press Trust Of Kashmir (PTK) that two more militant has been killed in the operation, taking the death toll of militants to three in the gunfight. However, he said, the identity of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained.

Earlier, a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police , Army and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in the Village following inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

As the joint team approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.

Meanwhile Kashmir zone police also informed through a tweet that 02 more unidentified #militants killed in Kulgam salam (Total 03). Search going on. Further details shall follow.(PTK)
