‘Govt. should accept the genuine demands of electrical employees’

Jammu, December 19(PTK): Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party Provincial President Jammu Manjit Singh on Sunday visited SC Mohalla in Samba where he interacted with the local populace.

In a statement issued here, Singh said that as part of the extensive public outreach program the people  of SC Mohalla gathered to apprise him about their pressing pleas.

“The people are facing immense problems with regards to basic infrastructural facilities especially with regards to the better road connectivity and pure drinking water supply. Numerous delegations of local inhabitants have been persistently calling out to the concerned authorities but their requests were met with an impervious attitude,” he said.

Singh said that in absence of a democratically elected government, people are being pushed to the wall. “The Central Government must end this purgatory  like situation and initiate prompt steps for restoring the dignity of the people by promoting the UT of J&K back to the status of a State and commence the electoral process,” he said.

Expressing deep resentment over the privatization of grids in J&K, Singh said that arbitrary laws like this are deepening the sense of alienation among the natives besides adding woes to the public who cannot bear the burden of further spike in electricity bills.

“Government has  a moral obligation to end the current indefinite strike by the JKPDD employees. Their genuine demand needs to be accepted without any pre-conditions or delay which will also ensure that people do not have to suffer due to the present blackouts across J&K. The harsh winter is already creating huge inconvenience to the people and by taking such unilateral decisions it is adding more to their agony. I am hopeful that this unique  power outage will end soon as more than 20,000 PDD employees are on strike,” he said. :-PTK
