Police recover illicit timber from smugglers in Baramulla

Srinagar, 26 Nov (PTK ) : The forest department officials and Sopore police recovered a large quantity of illicit timber from two smugglers in Fidarpora Rafiabad area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Reports reaching Press trust of Kashmir (PTK) that following a tip off that smugglers had kept illicit timber in Fidarpora Rafiabad, a police team headed by SHO Police station Dangiwacha Imtiyaz Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Mohammad Ameen Bhat raided Fidarpora village and during searches they recovered a large quantity of illicit timber from two smugglers.

The smugglers were identified as Abdul Qayoom Mir S/O Abdul Razzak Mir and Abdul Ahad Hajam S/O Mohammad Rajab Hajam both are residents of Fidarpora Rafiabad.

Meanwhile a case has been registered under FIR No. 189/2021 U/S 379 IPC & 26 Indian Forest act in Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigation has been taken up in this regard. (PTK)
