Srinagar City experiences season’s Coldest Night

 

Srinagar, 23 Nov (PTK) : The Srinagar city in union Territory Jammu and Kashmir, experienced the coldest night of the season with temperature dropping as low as minus 2.3°C on the intervening night of Monday-tuesday, the MET office said.

 

Cold wave intensified in Kashmir with a drop in minimum temperatures in most parts of the Valley, as per Weatherman , an independent weather forecaster, Srinagar city — the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir — recorded a low of minus 2.3 degrees Celsius, which is the lowest temperature recorded in this year so far .

 

Meanwhile, Anantnag remained the coldest place in the Valley recording a minimum of minus 4.5 degree Celsius, tourist resort of Gulmarg and Kupwara in north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 0.6 and 3.0 degrees Celsius respectively, Kokernag and Qazigund recorded the minimum temperatures of minus 1.1°C and minus 2.2°C respectively.

 

The minimum temperature in Jammu, the UT’s winter capital, was recorded at 9 degrees Celsius, Banihal, Bhaderwah, Batote and Katra recorded minimum temperatures of 5.8°C, 2.2°C, 6.2°C and 9.6°C respectively.(PTK).
