The Team Won 19 Medals Including 7 Gold, 11 Silver & 1 Bronze

PRESS TRUST Of KASHMIR | Srinagar : Kupwara Terriers Commanding Officer (CO), Col. Swaraj Bhattacharya, yesterday felicitated the 8 winning players of Kupwara IceStockSport who participated in the ‘Summer Ice Stock National Championship 2021’ held at Sher-E-Kashmir Indoor Stadium, Srinagar from 9 to 12 September 2021 under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. Organised by Indian IceStockSport Federation in collaboration with J&K IceStockSport Association the event saw 300 players from 20 states participating in the four-day national championship.
The team from Kupwara (4 girls and 4 boys), sponsored by 160 TA JAKRIF, bagged 19 medals including 7 gold, 11 silver and 1 bronze in individual and team games.

Col. Bhattacharya congratulated the young players on their stellar performance and assured them robust support in the future for their training, development and participation in more competitions. He particularly applauded the young girls for not only competing in a relatively unknown sport but also performing admirably.
He spoke at length to the players about their experiences, challenges, requirements and reiterated the importance of sports in creating a positive environment to bring development, peace and harmony to the region.(PTK).
