90 YOUNG SOLDIERS JOIN LADAKH SCOUTS REGIMENT

 

 Press trust of Kashmir | Ladakh : An Attestation Parade was held at The LADAKH SCOUTS Regimental Centre, Leh on 12 Jun 2021 to mark the entry of 90 well trained recruits into the LADAKH SCOUTS Regiment as Young Soldiers. The impressive ceremony, conducted in consonance with the highest traditions of the Indian Army, was reviewed by Major General Akash Kaushik, Chief Of Staff, Fire and Fury Corps.

The Young Soldiers, hailing from all regions of Ladakh, took the oath to serve the Nation. The Reviewing Officer congratulated them for the impressive parade and urged them to devote their life in service to the nation as proud soldiers of the Indian Army.

He also complimented the parents of the Young Soldiers on having motivated their wards to join the Indian Army and exhorted the young Soldiers to continue to strive hard in pursuit of excellence and uphold the name of battle tested ‘LADAKH SCOUTS’ and their military traditions.

The young Riflemen were awarded medals for their outstanding performance during training.  It was indeed a proud moment for the recruits who hail from far flung areas to join the LADAKH SCOUTS Regiment as young soldiers.(PTK)

Sagar, Kamal, Nasir, Lone also deplore bloodshed; express sympathies with families of victims

Srinagar, 12 June: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq, Omar Abdullah on Saturday expressed profound grief and anguish over the killing of two cops and three civilians in a firing incident that took place in Sopore town of Baramulla District on Saturday.

While condemning the attack, party vice president Omar Abdullah said such attacks should be condemned without any reservation. “The terrible news coming from Baramulla about the killing of two Cops and three civilians is heart wrenching. I mince no words in my condemnation of the outrageous bloodshed. The violence in all its forms and manifestations constitutes the most serious threat to the dignity of human life and universal peace. I express my deepest sympathies with the families of the victims and pray for peace to the ones who lost their lives in the reprehensible act,” he said.

Among others Party’s General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustufa Kamal, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, North Zone President and MP Baramulla Muhammad Akbar Lone, Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, Provincial Secretary Showkat Ahmed Mir, District President Baramulla Javed Dar have condemned the killings in unequivocal terms and expressed heartfelt sympathies with the families of the victims.
