Drug peddler arrested in Kulgam; Contraband substance recovered
Press Trust of Kashmir | Kulgam : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Officers from Police Station Kulgam at a checkpoint established at Chanser crossing intercepted a person riding a motorcycle bearing registration No. JK13A-4045. He has been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Khan son of Nazir Ahmad Khan resident of Check Sangrun Shopian. During checking, officers were able to recover 250 grams of charas from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Motorcycle used in the commission of the crime has also been seized.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.130/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police station Kulgam and investigation has been taken up.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.(PTK)

Press Trust of Kashmir | Baramulla : Baramulla Police recovered a girl who was abducted and arrested the person involved in the crime.
Police Post Wusan received an information from one person namely Ghulam Hassan Dar son of Abdul Khaliq Dar resident of Tengpora Pattan wherein he stated that his daughter has been kidnapped by one person identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar resident of Tengpora Pattan, District Baramulla. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.138/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pattan.

On receipt of this information, officers from Police Station Pattan swung into action and recovered the abducted girl from Tengpora Crossing area of Pattan. Accused involved in the commission of the crime has also been arrested.
After completing the medico-legal formalities, the recovered girl was handed over to her legal heirs. Further investigation into the case is going on.
Community members are requested to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood. Community members can share information pertaining to social crimes with police. We reassure the community members that our efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue.(PTK)

Police seeks public cooperation to mitigate spread of virus
Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar : Continuing its efforts to curb the outbreak of 2nd wave of Coronavirus, J&K Police have enhanced its efforts to sensitise the masses about controlling the highly contagious Coronavirus. During the last 24hrs, Police have arrested 27 persons, lodged 20 FIRs and also realized fine to the tune of ₹11,14,800/- from 6729 people throughout the Kashmir valley for violating the various guidelines/rules/SOPs regarding Covid-19. Besides, 06 vehicles were also seized for violating Covid norms in district Bandipora.

The special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic.
Community members are once again requested to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/protocols for their own safety and for the safety of others. The special drive shall continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures.(PTK).
