Anganwadi workers Demands in Ganderbal, won’t join Covid duty till protective gears, other benefits given to them

Press trust of Kashmir | Ganderbal : The anganwadi workers in Kangan area of Ganderbal on Monday  demanded justice in their favour.

The workers are reluctant to join Covid duty as they are without any protective gears and no benefits have been announced for them in case they contract virus.

Sabiya union president of the anganwadi workers of block kangan told PTK that they are being asked to join Covid training for testing and vaccination but they aren’t so much qualified that so they can do medical duty.

She said that whether it is election duty or anything else, anganwadi workers are on the forefront but no they no special announcement comes in their favour from the government side.

She said that despite having performing Covid duties since long but they are yet to get any protective gear.

Masooda another Anganwadi worker said that despite being on the forefront, government has failed to give them insurance cover besides other benefits.

She said that one of their colleague died duty days after she was performing Covid duty but she didn’t got any benefit from the government site.
