Srinagar March 01 (PTK) :All J&K PDL, TDL Electric employees on Monday protested against the authorities for paying deaf ear to their long pending demands, saying if their issues are not addressed immediately the daily wagers working in KPDCL and its allied sections will go for indefinite strike.
Hundreds of daily wagers under the banner of All J&K PDL, TDL Electric Employees assembled here in PDD Chief Office, Jehangir Chowk and protested against the authorities over their step-motherly treatment.
Chanting slogans including “Daily Wager Halla Bol, Awaz Do Hum Ek Hai, Hamari Mange Poori Karo, Insaf Ke Aage Jukhna Hoga and PDD Administration Murdabad”, the protesting daily wage employees were demanding immediate redressal of their long pending demands.
Mohammad Adeer Wani, Chief Spokesperson All J&K PDL, TDL Electric Employees alleged that officials in Civil Secretariat have deliberately kept hidden away their files and don’t want our miseries to end.
“PDDs Departmental Promotional Committee in year 2019 decided that daily wagers would be regularized as per available vacancies but at the same time officials in Civil Secretariat are deliberately delaying our issues,” Wani said.
He said issues like relaxation in age/qualification bar, compensation and rehabilitation to injured personnel, regularization of services, withdrawal of pending salaries, files pending in civil secretariat and division offices and others are not being attended since years, causing panic and concern among daily wagers who always put their lives at stake during odd and adverse weather conditions.
“The files pertaining to relaxation of age and qualification bar are pending till 2018 and no orders are being passed over it,” he said.
He added that the Government had adjusted few kin of those who had lost their lives in the line of duty but unfortunately their salaries are withheld without any logical reason.
Wani demanded that pending files in division offices should be immediately sent to chief office and withheld salaries of System & Operation (S&O) employees also should be released.
We met higher ups several times including Principal Secretary PDD Rohit Kansal who assured us that long pending demands would be taken into account but despite passing of eight-months, nothing has been done so far in our favor, he said.
He said chief engineer had promise on Jan 14 that your issues will be redressed but on ground nothing has been done. (PTK)
