Srinagar Jan 20 (PTK):Former deputy mayor sheikh Imran on Wednesday wrote to DDC srinagar to set up ward control rooms at ward offices of SMC for snow clearance or any kind of grievance redressel.
In his letter he mentioned that MET has predicted wet weather and there is need to set up control rooms where councillors, SMC officials and officials of other departments would remain present to ensure that no problem is being faced by the people.
Gardners and force of srinagar development authority may also be roped for quick functioning, he said.
There is need to activate these control rooms and the numbers of officers must be shared in public through media so that people can contact them in odd times, he said, adding that people can get respite by directly contacting with SMC ward control rooms.
Ward control rooms must be controlled by SMC srinagar headquarters for smooth functioning.
He said ward control rooms must be headed by local councillors and they must be be given power to hire men and machinary locally to clear roads and meet any emergencies.
He said that these control rooms can be used in future too. (PTK)
