Pulwama May 14(PTK)Massive clashes erupted in Rohmoo area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday afternoon as local seek to offer prayers in Mosques.
Local sources said that after authorities didn’t allowed locals to offer Friday prayers in Mosque, they staged protests against authorities and demanded permission to offer prayers.
They said that the police and CRPF deployed there tried to disperse them by teargas canisters however protesters pelted stones on them which was retialated with pellet firing.
Protesters alleged that people belonging to other religions are normally allowed to follow their religion by letter and spirit however Muslims have been made soft targets even in the holy month of Ramadan and are not allowed to offer prayers at Mosques.
Clashes were in the area when reports last came and so far no injury was reported(PTK)
