He said that authorities in past were more interested in Shalimar to project Israel based Zubin Mehta of western culture by spending hundreds of crores on them than to encourage local youth of Kashmir.
He said today’s Sufi performances of high talented youth of Kashmir where thousands of people were freely allowed to witness proved far better than Zubin Mehta in which Tourism department and Germany embassy spent crores but no Kashmir was allowed inside Shalimar Garden .Those sozes of Zubin Mehta are slur to our own original culture of Kashmir.
He appreciated local media which understood the importance of such jam packed programme and covered particularly through local social media and local channels. He appealed to Governor Administration to gear up local cultural & tourism department to come forward to encourage youth.
He also appealed for complete ban on wine in Kashmir which was for political reasons through its workers encouraged by previous regimes. He said that people of Kashmir will take sigh of relief if wine bars are closed and 5k licenses cancelled immediately.
