Says JK virtually handed over to bunch of bureaucrats who are unaware of peoples’ miseries
Srinagar: Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary expressed disgruntlement over the ECI decision of not to hold assembly elections in Kashmir, questioning that if state is prepared for LS polls, why not to the assembly elections.
Reacting to the announcement made by ECI on Sunday, Kadfeen said that the decision to delay the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir has disheartened the people all across the state and has raised the suspension among the people about the democratic exercise.
He added that the people of Jammu and Kashmir presently witnessing perturbation on many fronts have been denied the basic right to choose the government and that at present the power corridors for them continue to remain shut. He said that when popular government is in place, 15 to 20 thousand people every day visit civil secretariat to get their grievances addressed. However, at present, people find themselves in middle of the chaos with no one there in the government to listen to their woes and address their concerns.
Kadfeen said that instead of striving to put popular government in place through democratic exercise, the ECI has done the opposite, delaying polls and denying people their right to choose the government.
The Congress leader stated that the ECI must come clear over why it delayed the polls of assembly and at the same time announced parliament polls.
