28 injured in Jammu ‘grenade attack’, several critical

SRINAGAR, (PTK): Twenty-eight civilians have sustained injuries in grenade explosion that took place this afternoon in bus-stand Jammu.

The incident took place after some unknown persons lobbed a grenade towards a bus which was about to leave for Delhi but the grenade exploded outside the bus which caused injuries to 28-persons who were rushed to nearby hospital where condition of four persons is said to be critical while others have sustained splinter injuries. The cars parked meters far from the blast site have suffered damage.

IGP Jammu confirmed the incident and said that they have launched searches to nab the suspects. The investigation in the matter is on. He further said that we are chasing all leads and requested people to maintain calm.

Massive amount of security personnel have been deployed in the area while searches to nab suspects are on. Many senior officials have arrived at the spot while officials are collecting the samples. Dog squad has reached the spot to collect evidence.

No militant organisation has claimed the responsibility of the attack.

Meanwhile, former Chief Minister of the state has condemned the attack and has called it an act of terror. (PTK)
