DSP killed, army major wounded in ongoing Kulgam encounter

SRINAGAR, (PTK): A top police officer has been killed in ongoing Kulgam gunfight while as an army major has injured critically.

According to reports, DSP operations Aman Thakur got killed during the exchange of fire between militants and security forces.

The officials while confirming the death of DSP Aman Thakur said the a army major has also been wounded in this encounter.

The officials also said that a militant has also got killed in the exchange of fire and his body is visible near the gunfight site .

It’s believed that one to two more militants are still holed up while as indiscriminate exchange of fire is on.

Joint team of security on Sunday afternoon laid CASO in Turigam village of Kulgam district in South Kashmir. When the search party reached a suspected spot, militants fired upon them which resulted a encounter.

Meanwhile , massive clashes are going on near the gunfight site. (PTK)
