Srinagar, February 21 (PTK): National Conference leader and former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah on Thursday lashed out at the Narendra Modi government over the attacks on Kashmiri Students studying at various colleges of the country after the Pulwama attack.
Abdullah alleged that the central government was trying to defame the entire community through proper planning. He further added that the Kashmiri’s studying in various colleges and universities of the country are being targeted.
The former J&K CM also stated that his concern was about the withdrawal of security to mainstream political operators. He added, “On one hand, you’re telling us that we have to be prepared for Parliament and assembly elections, on the other hand, you’re telling us that we no longer deserve the protection of the state.
The National Conference leader also vouched for the solution of the Kashmir issue through dialogue. He said, “When we talk of dialogue we’re branded anti-nationals, but in a joint statement with Saudi Arabia, the two leaders talk about composite dialogue
After the Pulwama attack, Kashmiri students studying in Dehradun colleges were forced to flee back to their home state. Various colleges also said that they would not admit any Kashmiri student in Future.
According to reports, a senior faculty member of Kashmiri origin was dismissed from his post. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Friday is likely to hear a petition highlighting the alleged targeting of Kashmiri students in the country after the Pulwama attack.
On February 14, over 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) men were martyred in a suicide attack in Pulwama. Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) claimed responsibility for the attack. JeM militant Adil Ahmed Dar rammed a car full of explosives into the CRPF convoy. (PTK)
