Kashmiriyat: Stranded Kashmiri passengers thrashed in Jammu, Kashmiri’s provide them food in Qazigund

Qazigund, Feb 11: The villagers of Wangund area of Qazigund in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district set up community kitchens for marooned travelers on the Jammu-Srinagar highway as it remained blocked for the sixth consecutive day.
Hundreds of drivers and passengers stranded due to blockade of Srinagar- Jammu highway were provided food by the Locals of Qazigund area.
The Locals established community kitchens and served food themselves to the stranded truckers comprising Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs as well.
Mohammad Yousuf Rather, a local from Qazigund village told PTK that they arranged food for the drivers from jammu and other Indian states and provided them free food and other essential supplies.
They said, “We kashmiris have always been supportive of communal harmony and Kashmir over the years has stood for love and compassion.”
Meanwhile yesterday in Jammu, a group of RSS activists hurl stones on protesting stranded passengers from Kashmir in Jammu and thrashed several Kashmiri passengers near the shrine and a hostel adjacent to Jammu Science College who have been stranded in Jammu due to the blockade of Highway
Reports said that a large number of stranded passengers from Kashmir had arrived near the shrine and a hostel adjacent to Jammu Science College to register themselves for air lifting to Kashmir. In which some stranded passengers were irked over the alleged mismanagement and they came outside and started raising slogans against Governor Administration
However, Police have filed two separate cases under FIR numbers 14/2019 under sections 147, 148, 336, 427, 124, 341 (against those who raised anti-national slogans and indulged in violence) and 15 /2019 under section 336 (scuffle between the students and the Kashmiris which led to disturbance).
SSP Jammu, Tejinder Singh said two separate cases were registered and investigations have been taken up.
“We have taken cognizance and those raising anti-national slogans are being segregated,” SSP said. (PTK)
