SRINAGAR, (PTK): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has sought adjournment of the hearing in a bunch of petitions challenging the constitutional validity of article 35-A before the Supreme Court.
In the application filed before Registrar General of the Supreme Court by advocate Shoeb Alam, the adjournment of the hearing has been sought on account of there “presently is no elected government in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and the state is under President’s rule”.
The petitions challenging the constitutional validity of Article 35-A are listed before the Supreme Court between February 12 and 14.
Article 35-A deals with the special rights and privileges given to “permanent residents” of Jammu and Kashmir.
