UN duty-bound to resolve Kashmir: Mukhtar Waza

Srinagar, (PTK): Senior APHC Leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League Mukhtar Ahmad Waza said the United Nations was duty-bound to resolve Kashmir issue, and play role in stopping killing of Kashmiris.

He said the world body must pressurize New Delhi to “stop unabated human rights violations” in Jammu and Kashmir.

The UN has legal, moral and humanitarian commitment towards the people of J&K to implement the promises it guaranteed them,Waza said in a statement.

He termed the ongoing situation in Kashmir as “serious and explosive”, saying, “If the United Nations does not take notice and play its role in the resolution of Kashmir dispute, it will have serious repercussions in the subcontinent.

Meanwhile Mukhtar Ahmad Waza visited Naibasti locality of Islamabad Town,where he condoled the demise of Farooq Ahmad Hali who passed away yesterday.

Waza on occasion prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the family to bear the tragic loss.
