Srinagar, 15 Jan (PTK): In a communique issued to the press, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) president, Dr Suhail Naik criticised the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kargil’s action against the Medical Superintendent(MS) District Hospital(DH) Kargil and one other medico.
Dr Naik said that, “It is beyond our understanding as to how and why CMO issued such harsh order against the Medical Superintendent without any enquiry. Such arrogant and dramatic orders of administrators just to please politicians, public and higher ups have discouraged the doctor fraternity time and again”.
Dr Naik further said, “We have received a detailed representation from our fraternity kargil were it is crystal clear that the attending doctors are at no fault and unnecessarily such unwise order has been issued. It is full of shame that doctors have been asked to apologise before adminstration and public for no fault of theirs”.
Dr Owais H Dar, Gen. secretary DAK made it clear that “we will not bear any sort of corrective tactics or humiliation against our doctors. He further said “how can CMO himself without directions from Directorate of Health Services Kashmir or Administarive Department suspend Medical Superintendents of a District Hospital?thereby transgressing the authority”.
Senior executive member Dr Mir Mushtaq while terming this approach of CMO as autocratic appealed Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Kunzes Dolma to take suo motive cognisance of the matter and to ask for a detailed report from the concerned authorities.
Dr Arshed H Trag Joint Secy DAK requests all doctors of state to remain united for the cause and for all other genuine demands which are pending before government since long.
DAK demands immediate revocation of the said order along with the assurance that in future these episodes will not be repeated anywhere in the state from the authorities.
