Jitesh Gupta had travelled all the way from of Hardobara in Siwan district of Bihar to Kota for coaching for IIT JEE entrance examinations. He had passed his Class 12 and had been preparing for his JEE examinations for three years now. When he did not answer the call from his parents in the morning, they asked his friend to check on him. It was his friend who found him hanging from the ceiling fan. The authorities immediately rushed to the spot.
No suicide note was found and the authorities are trying to ascertain the cause behind the extreme step. The body has been kept in the mortuary of Maharao Bhim Singh hospital for post-mortem. The post mortem would be conducted today after the family arrives from Bihar.
Jitesh is the third suicide in the last two days. On Sunday afternoon, two separate incidents claimed the lives of students. Diksha Singh, a NEET 2019 aspirant from Kushinagar town in UP had hanged herself while another IIT Aspirant, Deepak Dadich had hanged himself on Saturday noon at his coaching institute. Diksha was 17 year old while Deepak was 16 year old.
With Jitesh’s suicide, the total number of suicides recorded in the city has climbed to 19. While the real reason of the suicides is not known, most of them have been attributed to the stress of the entrance examinations and the fear of not cracking the same.
