SRINAGAR, DEC 22 (PTK): Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Vice President and former MLC G N Monga has expressed grief and sorrow over the tragic death of seven labourers from Uri, Baramulla in a landslide in Char Dham area of Uttarakhand.

Extending his heartfelt condolences with the bereaved families, Monga urged the J&K Governor to enhance the ex-gratia relief of Rs 2 lakh each announced in favour of next of kin of the deceased. “In today’s time, Rs 2 lakh is a meagre amount and the Government must enhance it suitably. He also demanded that the injured labourers must be treated with full care and attention and also provided suitable compensation. The Congress leader also urged the J&K government and Uttarakhand government to provide every possible support to the bereaved families to ensure immediate shifting of the bodies to their native places back in Kashmir.
