SRINAGAR, DEC 21 (PTK): Expressing serious concern over the reported misuse of Swachh Bharat Mission Scheme (IHHL) launched by the Govt, District Congress Committee (DCC) President Srinagar Irfan Naqib has sought transparency while implementing the scheme in Srinagar and elsewhere in the State.
In Statement issued, Irfan Naqib has urged upon the Govt to ensure that the Swachh Bharat Mission Scheme launched for providing Latrine Block to those living below poverty line, as that, many middle man are reportedly indulging in the scheme to serve their vested interests.
The scheme should remain between Srinagar Municipal Corporation and beneficiaries, besides the Corporators should also be involved while providing Latrine blocks to beneficiaries.
Naqib urged upon the Government especially SMC Srinagar to ensure that the benefits of scheme reaches to genuine beneficiaries directly, besides restraining those middle men indulging in this scheme for monetary benefits, he added and said that Corporators should also be taken into confidence while implementing the scheme.
