Srinagar: Seven civilians have been killed during clashes with government forces in southern Kashmir’s Pulwama taking the overall death toll to 10 including 3 militants and an army personnel.
Eyewitnesses said that government forces fired indiscriminately at the civilians who were protesting the killings of three local militants in a gunfight earlier in Kharpora village of the district.
Doctors at district hospital Pulwama confirmed to Kashmir Reader that six dead bodies were received at the hospital. “All the six were declared brought dead,” they said.
Doctors identified the slain civilians as Suhail Ahmad of Bellow, Shahnawaz of Monghama, Liyaqat of Parigam, Abid Ahmad of Kareemabad, Amir Ahmad of Ashmandar and Aqib Ahmad of Prichoo Pulwama.
Another civilian who was taken to district hospital Pulwama after hit by a bullet was referred to SMHS Srinagar, however, he succumbed due to grave injuries.
The slain has been identified as Touseef Ahmad Mir son of Asadullah Mir of Urchersoo Pulwama. (PTK)
