SRINAGAR, DEC 12 (PTK): Asserting that yesterday’s Assembly election results for Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan has reiterated that divisive politics will not work in the country, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief G A Mir on Wednesday said they will emerge as the single largest party in the upcoming elections.
Addressing reporters in Srinagar, JKPCC president G A Mir said the Congress hopes to emerge as the single largest party in the assembly elections due next year.
“As you saw the atmosphere of the country. We have been saying it before as well that divisive and hate politics will be rejected by the voters,” said Mir, adding that PM Modi and the BJP tried to divide the country through their ‘politics of hate’.
He said that the voters of ‘Hindi heartland’ rejected the politics of hate by voting for the Congress party in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
“We hope that this trend will continue in 2019 (the time of parliamentary polls) as well,” he said.
Yesterday G A Mir while speaking to News agency Press Trust of Kashmir terming the assembly poll results in three Hindi heartland states as a mandate for the leadership of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G A Mir on Tuesday claimed that it was the “beginning of the end” of the Narendra Modi-led NDA government.
Mir said the Congress’ performance showed that the party was on an upswing across the country. He added that people of India started ignoring BJP now same result BJP will see in Jammu and Kashmir in upcoming assembly elections. It was considered as semi-final to the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and with this the victory of the Congress in next Parliament election is now sure.
He added that in J&K there are multi religious, multi culture as well as different area, when Modi started to divide India in different parts, now people from Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh answer BJP. (PTK)
