SRINAGAR, (PTK): G N Shaheen along with adv S. S. Bashir in India International centre New Delhi. In a broad based discussion on ‘J&K , the road ahead’ organised by centre for peace and progress, Kashmir council chairman while impressing upon peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute highlighted the grave situation in Kashmir and it’s impact on peace, stability and development in south Asia, urged upon India and Pakistan to resume comprehensive and composite dialogue to address the Kashmir issue with a sense of purpose to seek amicable settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
He said Kashmir is dispute on both sides of ceasefire line between India and Pakistan and the freedom struggle in kashmir is a just,legitimate and mass based moment. Neither the paucity of time nor state repression can the will of kashmiries or change the course of history, impressing upon the need for a dialogue on Kashmir supporting the call of prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, the prime minister of India Modi must reciprocate positively to set the atmosphere for a purposeful dialogue.
Khan has reopened the window of opportunity in the region for peace and development and resolution of Kashmir dispute. The collective political wisdom should be given a chance to find a way forward for settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
