Panchayat Ghar set on fire in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, November 24 (PTK): Unknown persons tried to set ablaze Panchayat Ghar at Wahidpora village in centre Kashmir’s Ganderbal district late Saturday evening.

Reports said that unknown persons tried to set the Panchayat Ghar on fire. However timely action by locals and Police brought it under control.

As per sources two Suspected Persons apprehended by joint team of Army’s 5 RR and Ganderbal Police near Wahidpora Ganderbal panchayat ghar, these persons who were apprehended set ablaze the panchayat ghar.

They said there was some dispute going on regarding appointment of chowkidar as the result some windows of the Panchayat Ghar got damaged.

When contact Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ganderbal Khalil Ahmed Poswal Speaking to News agency Press Trust of Kashmir said “We got reports that unknown persons set ablaze Panchayat Ghar, after verification we came to know that there was dispute in area over Panchayat appointment .

He further added “fire is under control and two suspects rounded up and preliminary investigation reveals that a dispute was going on regarding appointment of Chowkidars”.

Meanwhile Police issued following statement over ablaze of Panchayat Ghar in Ganderbal.

Police in a statement said ‘today round 8PM Police and Army Patrol in Wahidpora area got to know about a fire incident of Panachayat Ghar.

Immediately with the help fire tenders fire brought under control. Timely intervention saved Panchayat ghar.  (PTK)
