Instead of, resorting to ‘provocative statements, ceasefire violations India should adopt course of dialogue: Pakistan’s Army Chief
SRINAGAR, NOV 23 (PTK): Pakistan’s Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that India, instead of, resorting to ‘provocative statements and ceasefire violations’ should adopt the course of dialogue for peace and progress in the region, reported the Dawn.
According to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Bajwa made the suggestion to India’s civilian and military leadership during a visit to the restive Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistan Administered Kashmir on Wednesday.
He also pointed out that lately there had been a ‘surge in ceasefire violations by India’ and rhetoric of provocative statements by its military leadership.
“We are a professional and combat hardened army ready to defend our motherland … It would be better if they [India] realise this and place their stock in peace and progress through dialogue,” he said.
However Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says Kashmir cause is an important pillar of Pakistan’s foreign policy and it has a clear stance on this issue.
Talking to President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Pakistan administered Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry in Islamabad; he said Indian brutalities and human rights violations have been clearly exposed by surveys of international organizations.
The two leaders also discussed party matters during the meeting. (PTK)
