SRINAGAR, NOV 13 (PTK): Students from central university of Kashmir staged protest at Nowgam campus demanding the release of their classmate, who was arrested by the police from his rented accommodation in Nowgam on Srinagar outskirts.
The protesting students assembled here to demand release of Suhail Ahmad Dar, student of political science department. They said the arrested student is being falsely framed by police. The students said the varsity authorities should press police to release the arrested student.
Meanwhile, classwork in the university remained suspended on second consecutive day on Tuesday. A day ago, the authorities had suspended classwork but today the students did not appear to attend classes.
The university PRO, Arshid Mehraj, said the university had not suspended any classwork today. “But students have not resumed their classwork,” he said. (PTK)
