SRINAGAR, NOV 12 (PTK): Hundreds of daily wager workers of the public health engineering (PHE) department took out a rally against the state over its ‘failure’ to release their salaries and frame a policy for regularisation.
A large number of PHE daily wagers, raised slogans against the state govt. The workers from various districts and subdivisions protest against govt and demand regularisation.
“All the political parties have cheated poor workers by giving them false assurances. The panchayat elections are near and families of poor workers will give these parties an appropriate answer in the coming polls,” protester said.
They said they had not been paid salaries for the last 52 months while all their pleas had fallen on deaf ears, their demands were not met, they would lock all water pumping stations in the future. (PTK)
