SRINAGAR, (PTK): A militant was killed when a police party was ambushed in Handawara town, on SUnday.
According to police, militant attacked police naka party but the attack was successfully repulsed. The area has been cordoned off and a search operation is underway.

Police Version
Today in the afternoon hours, a group of militants while moving through Handwara was intercepted by a naka party near Chattipora in the jurisdiction of Police Station Handwara which led to a brief exchange of gunfire.
Consequently one militant got killed in the exchange of fire. The identity of the killed militant is being ascertained. The area has been cordoned off and searches are going on in the area. (PTK)
