Meanwhile, Alam in a statement issued here asked the Governor Satya Pal Malik to probe the allegations he has levelled in his recent interview. He added that the Governor through his statement has put the vital institutes of the state under the cloud and he is duty bound to direct the anti-graft bodies of the state- equipped with the dedicated staff- to probe the allegations and come out with the detailed facts, if any. “Mere defaming the institutes will not work as the Governor holds the top most post of the state and under his command, the investigative agencies work round the clock and therefore, instead of levelling the unsubstantiated charges against the parties and institutions of Jammu and Kashmir, he should order a thorough probe into it,” Alam said.

The PDP leader added that the party is the only political force in the state that strived since its inception to eradicate the menace of corruption, favouritism and nepotism in the state and allowed the dispensation to function in a transparent manner.

He added that people across the country are aware about the findings of the report that came in February this year and in which the PDP president was declared as the poorest chief minister across India with least assets in possession.

He added that unlike the previous regimes who institutionalised corruption in the state, PDP is the only party acted against the corrupt officials and even dismissed them from services.

Alam said the every person in the state of Jammu and Kashmir is aware of the fact that the PDP founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed worked tirelessly in his entire life for the welfare of the state and didn’t even own a single piece of land anywhere in the state or in the country.
