
Kupwara, Oct 26 (PTK): Residents of this frontier district Kupwara are up in arms against the Power Development Department as they are facing frequent/unscheduled power cuts.
Residents of Kupwara town and its outskirts while talking to our Special correspondent Wasim Majnoon Mir“The Department doesn’t adhere to the schedule due to which the students preparing for examination are facing hardships,” they added.

“When PDD installed meters in our area we were told that we would get power supply round the clock, but their promises turned out to be a hoax,” residents said.
The situation in un-metered and remote villages of Kupwara,Langate, Handwara, Kralpora,Trehgam,Hayhama and valley Lolab is no different. Many remote villages, including Diver lolab, Rajpora, Kalmoona, Hafrada, Rangward, Marseri, Shalal and Dahama, are facing acute power shortage.
In Drugmulla, vodhpora, Muhgalpora, power supplied from Arampora grid station is disrupted after every half an hour. “PDD resorts to continuous powercuts,” locals said.
