Rescheduling of class 12 English test leaves students in worry

SRINAGAR, OCT 23 (PTK): The Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education’s (JKBOSE) decision to reschedule the English subject exam in the backdrop of the recent civilian killings in Kulgam, has left scores of students in worry.

“The examination of English paper which was scheduled to be held on October 22 and was postponed due to unavoidable circumstances in the valley shall now be held on November 02 (Friday),” the spokesman of the department said.

The sudden postpone has left the class 12 students, especially for those wanting to make a career in the medical batch, in serious worry.

As per the exam timetable, a four day holiday – November 1 to November 4 – was given to the students to prepare for the biology exam scheduled November 5.

“Biology is a vast subject. By rescheduling the English exam to November 2 is concerning,” says Danish Ilahi, a student of Government Higher Secondary Pulwama.

As per Danish, Biology is an important subject to get an admission in the medical field.

“Our career will reflect as per the marks we will score in Biology. Now with the just two days to prepare after the rescheduling, we are now really tensed,” Danish said.

Pertinent to mention, the class 12 boards were earlier scheduled to begin in the second week of November, which was, however proponed because of the local body elections.

Despite repeated calls, JKBOSE Chairman Veena Pandita was unavailable for her comment.
