SRINAGAR, (PTK): Locals said that three youth died in a blast at encounter site after a shell exploded .
However, Police said that one civilian identified as Ubaid Laway son of Mohd Maqbool Laway of Laroo died.
Police said that civilians visited the encounter site immediately after the gunfight in spite of request not to visit as thorough search was to be made for explosives once flames douse.
“They didn’t listen and thus visited the spot immediately after forces withdrew and some explosive substance went off resulting in injuries to civilians,” police spokesman said
“We request people not to visit the site again,” police spokesman said.
Reports said two other civilians are critically injured.
More than 20 persons are said to be injured.
Some injured were shifted to Kulgam hospital and some to different Srinagar hospitals.
10 Injured were shifted to district hospital Anantnag.
The injured have been identified as :-
1. Masroor Ahmad son of Gulam Muhammad Dar resident of Bogung, Kulgam.
2. Imran son of Abdul Rehman resident of Nuna Mai, Kulgam.
3. Tariq Ahmad son of Mohammad Yousuf resident of Srandoo, Kulgam.
4.Waseem Khanday son of Abdul Majeed Khanday R/O Tuuil Nowpora, Kulgam.
5.Adil Ahmad son of Abdul Rehman R/O Shurat, Kulgam.
6.Majid Jahangir son of Jahangir Ahmad R/O Shurat, Kulgam.
7.Aqib Ahmad son of Shamsud Din R/O Dadripora, Kulgam.
8. Faizan Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad R/O Dadripora, Kulgam.
9. Malik Rehan R/O dadripora, Kulgam.
10. Majid .
5 injured were referred to SMHS, Hospital , Srinagar from district hospital Anantnag.
